i went on a trip to wilson's promontory on saturday, or as it's known here, "wilson's prom."
it makes me think of the high school prom...ahh, back in the day.
anyway, it was a 3-4 hour drive to get there.
we arrived in the village of tidal river around noon and spent the afternoon hiking.
i loved getting to finally hike on a trip!
when we first got there, we sat down and ate our lunches.
this was our view at lunch...
then, back to the trail, we walked through lots of trees like this. they looked like mini enchanted forests!
finally, we got down to the coast!
sitting on top of the rock cliffs looking down at the ocean...i could've sat here all day!
i think this may be my favorite natural beauty i've seen the whole time i've been here.
climbing up the cliff side ;) (it's all in the camera angle)
once in a while, really large waves would roll in, hit the side of the cliff, and literally jump up at least 50 feet in the air. it's hard to see in the picture but that is the wave splashing up over the side of the cliff that i am standing on. it was AMAZING!
the sand actually squeaked like a basketball court when i walked on it!
next, we hiked a trail up mount oberon. it was more intense than the first one and so much fun!
this is a view on the way up the mountain...
and finally at the top...

SUCH a beautiful and fun day!!! so glad i went!!! :)
