re-oweek

rmit village, the complex where rachel and i are living, had re-oweek the first week of classes.
i'm not really sure what that stands for, but that had events planned for us all week and it was fun!
friday night was 80's prom night.
it was hilarious and so fun dancing like losers!
people had some really good outfits.
i can't even believe i am posting this, but here's some 80's entertainment...

i'm here

i've been here for almost 3 weeks now, and have finally gotten around to making a blog.
i have lots of catching up to do!
i'm not really sure where to begin, and don't feel like i can go into detail about everything i've done so far!
the short version is: i finally got here after a 30 hour flight.  got settled in, had lots of weird sleep patterns for a week, did some exploring, and started school.
starting school in july is no fun!
the day i got here, rachel took me to the market which is only about a 5 minute walk from our flat.  we're right in the middle of the city and everything is so close!  at the market, we can buy fruits, vegetables, meat, clothing, and all sorts of things for fairly cheap.  it's such a fun part of the culture here and i will definitely miss it when i leave!

oh, and if you feel a sudden urge for a camel ride at the market, no worries...
